The Bradley truck driver worked late and would have usually been home before 8:45 p.m., the time that night that he pulled up to the intersection of 104th Avenue and Wilmington-Peotone Road.
"I came up and saw the flames in the field, and then I saw it was a car on fire," Kalafut said Thursday. "I dialed 911, grabbed my gloves and a fire extinguisher, and ran to help."
