Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department announces festivities planned to celebrate 100th anniversary. The anniversary will also be commemorated with the publishing of a coffee table book celebrating the past, present, and future of the fire department. Peapack-Gladstone, N.J., (PRWEB) July 14, 2005 — Peapack-Gladstone will celebrate its 100th Anniversary in grand fashion with a parade and celebration. The parade will be on August 6, 2005 starting at 12:30 pm with a celebration to follow at Gill-St.Bernard’s School. The 100th anniversary of the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department marks a milestone for the fire department, as well as, the entire community. The department was founded in 1905 by the late Reverend John M. Harper of St Lukes Church — originally the department met in his church’s hall. Today, the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department is a first-rate organization – utilizing the latest technology in equipment and training. To celebrate this milestone of 100 years of service to Peapack-Gladstone; the fire department will not only be hosting a parade and celebration but will also be publishing a book about the past, present, and future of the fire company. The coffee table style book will be given as a gift to a large number of residents, which have been active supporters, by the fire department. “The Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department has come a long way and we can think of no better way to celebrate the rich history of the fire department then by hosting a parade and celebration,” says Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department President William Harris. “We are very excited that forty-eight other fire companies are going to share in the celebration with us by participating in the parade.” The parade and celebration will take place on August 6, 2005, starting at 12:30 pm. The parade will start at Main and Holland and ending at Mendhem and Jackson, then on to a celebration held at Gill-St. Bernard’s School. The parade will include forty-eight other fire companies, as well as 800 plus marchers and over 130 trucks, 10 marching bands and numerous floats. The celebration at Gill-St. Bernard’s will be full of activities including amusements for the kids and various fire trucks on display. Ice-cream, food and beverages will be provided free of charge by the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department.
